Alcohol Deregulation? Not Good for Indiana
Hoosiers for Beverage Choices is asking consumers to declare their beverage independence by joining the effort to modernize Indiana’s alcoholic beverage laws. This group supported by big corporations like Kroger, Marsh and others want to institute Sunday sales, and to sell cold beer.
Do you know what that really means?
Easier access to alcoholic beverages by people under the age of 21 – possibly your children or children of friends and neighbors.
Possible increase in alcohol-related accidents.
Big box stores, convenience stores and gas stations are already open on Sunday which is a big volume day for them, package liquor stores will incur additional expense to be open on Sunday.
No longer will you have the convenience and friendly one on one service you receive from independently owned businesses like Mr. G’s Liquor.
If the independent operators like Mr. G’s Liquor are forced out of business you will no longer have that great selection and true convenience.
- How long does it take to get in out of Wal-Mart?
- Who will talk to you about craft beers or how to make a new drink?
- When has someone at Wal-Mart greeted you by your first name or offered to carry your product to the car?
- If they don’t have what you’re looking for, which they won’t in most cases, will they order it for you?
If you want independent operators like Mr. G’s Liquor to remain in business and continue to supply the selection and service you’ve come to expect, please stop in to sign our petition “I Oppose Alcohol Deregulation.”

Even if the sale of alcohol becomes legal, you do not have to open your store!! That is your choice.
